Patricia Calabro

When I first started taking art classes I spent a lot of time with an elderly Japanese lady who taught calligraphy. She could not say my first name-Pat, so she called me Patso-san. The above is her calligraphic version of this nickname.

My art is spontaneous and struggles for individuality. It is my emotional response to reality. I am grateful for this opportunity to live my life through art. I am able to differentiate myself from the crowd and yet interact with the community and the many talented people in it. I am an artist because it makes me feel good.
